Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3 starring Amitabh Bachchan, Amit Sadh, Yami Gautam, Manoj Bajpayee and Jackie Shroff opened at around Rs 2.25 crore on the day of its release, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.

The first day collections of the film are however lower than the first two movies in the franchise ‘Sarkar Raj’ and ‘Sarkar’ which also had Big B in the lead role. The crime thriller has been co-written by RGV and Nilesh Girkar. Amitabh Bachchan has himself sung the ‘Ganesh Aarti’ for the film which has been highly appreciated by his fans.

‘Sarkar 3’ revolves around Amitabh Bachchan’s character Subhash Nagre (Sarkar) who deals with his violent grandson Shivaji Nagre (Cheeku) played by Amit Sadh, a dangerous adversary Michael Vallya (Jackie Shroff) and a moody and violent politician Govind Deshpande (Manoj Bajpayee). Amid all this, Yami Gautam aka Annu Karkare decides to take the revenge of her father’s death by conspiring against Sarkar.

The star cast of the film also includes Parag Tyagi as Raman Guru, Bharat Dabholkar as Gorakh Rampur, Rohini Hattangadi as Rukku Bai Devi and Shiv Sharma as Mukul Shumpre.
